I seek to understand the nature of lived experience and my place within it, particularly the uncanny feeling that reality may not be as it seems. My work explores ways to capture this surreal, often elusive quality of existence.
I am captivated by the mind and its profound role in shaping our perception of reality. My current work delves into the subconscious—the unseen depths that guide our dreams, imagination, and daily life. Through black-and-white contrasts and architectural forms, I create abstracted mindscapes. Composition and tonal value are essential, serving as mirrors of a universal harmony where dualities coexist as subtle, shifting shades of the same essence. Working in collage, assemblage, and printmaking allows me to layer textures and shapes that echo the mind’s complexity.
The labyrinthine nature of the mind is a central inspiration. I am drawn to metaphysics and the belief that there is always more than meets the eye. Recent influences include research in symbolism, psychoanalysis, mythology, and alchemy.
My goal is to engage viewers on a subconscious level, capturing not only the eye but also the mind. I aim to evoke a timeless sense of something fundamental, yet often overlooked, within each of us.
